Hi, my name is Julie and for the past few months, I had been struggling to fall asleep and stay asleep. I consider myself a healthy person, but, when it came to my sleep, I would often find myself just thinking in bed when I am supposed to be sleeping.
My thoughts would wander randomly for hours and then I would get frustrated about how I should be sleeping instead of thinking. Not being able to sleep was one of the worst periods of my life. My work started to suffer, my moods during the day would change constantly and I was easily irritable. It felt like everything was bothering me.
I tried listening to sleeping sounds which helped me but my husband likes the room to be quiet when we sleep so I tried using earphones but they were uncomfortable and frustrating which added to the frustration I was feeling from not being able to sleep. It was a living nightmare!
