Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Drowsie Pty Ltd collects when you use our website, the Drowsie app and the Drowsie Smart Sleep Machine, why we collect it, and your choices. Questions: hello@drowsie.com.

What we collect

• Account and order details: your name and email, and for orders, your shipping address and phone number.
• Payments: handled by Stripe on our website, and by Apple or Google (through RevenueCat) in the app. We never see or store your full card number.
• From your Drowsie, through the app: movement readings from its motion sensor through the night, and what we work out from them: when you settle and when you begin to wake, estimated sleep stages, breathing rate and heart rate. Also which sounds played and when, and Drowsie's battery, connection, serial number and software version.
• Drowsie never records sound.
• Your iPhone's microphone, only if you use "Tune to your pillow": the app listens for 30 seconds while Drowsie plays test tones, works out what your pillow absorbs on your phone, then discards the recording. Nothing is stored or uploaded.
• Apple Health, only if you allow it: the app reads your Apple Watch sleep stages to show them next to your Drowsie night. It never writes to Apple Health.
• Partner Mode, only if you link: your sleep scores, turns and wake events are shared with your partner, and theirs with you. Either of you can turn sharing off at any time.
• App use and diagnostics: which screens and features you use, and crash reports, so we can fix problems (PostHog and Sentry).
• Our website: pages you visit, your device and browser, and how you arrived (for example, from an ad), through cookies and similar tools: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, PostHog, Propel session replay, Loox reviews and Shopify.
• Messages and reviews: what you send our support team, and reviews you choose to post.

How we use it

• To run Drowsie and the app: learn which sounds settle you, show your nights, wake you with the gentle alarm, and run Partner Mode.
• To take and deliver orders, manage Sleep Club, and answer support requests.
• To improve how accurately Drowsie reads sleep, in our own analysis.
• To understand and measure our advertising, using website data only.

We don't sell your personal information. We never use your sleep or health data for advertising.

Where it's stored

Our main database is hosted in Sydney, Australia (Supabase). Some providers, such as Stripe, Apple, Google and our analytics and email services, may process data in other countries, including the United States. We choose providers with appropriate safeguards.

Who we share it with

Only the providers who help us run the service (payments, hosting, email, analytics, crash reporting, delivery). Also your partner, if you turn on Partner Mode sharing, and authorities where the law requires it. If Drowsie is ever sold or merged, your information would move with it, and we'd tell you.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, your account, sleep data and Drowsie link are deleted straight away, apart from records we must keep by law, such as tax and billing records.

Your choices and rights

• See or correct your information: email hello@drowsie.com.
• Delete your account: in the app, Me → Account → Delete account, or at drowsie.com/pages/delete-account. If you pay through Apple or Google, cancel Sleep Club there too.
• Marketing emails: unsubscribe from any email at any time.
• Complaints: tell us first, and we'll respond within 30 days. In Australia you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). US residents: see Your Privacy Rights. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion and objection; email us to use them.

Children

Drowsie isn't directed to children under 13. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

We'll post any change here with a new date.
