Most sleep apps play a sound on a timer and hope. Drowsie is a slim speaker that lies under your pillow — the sound travels through the pillow to you, and the person beside you hears close to nothing. It also feels you move, so it knows when you’ve settled and when you’ve stirred, and it answers.

What it does while you sleep

• It senses the night. Movement through the pillow tells it when you settle and when you stir — nothing to wear, nothing to charge but the speaker.
• It learns which sounds work for you. Not which are popular. Yours.
• Autopilot runs the night. It answers a stir before you’re properly awake, then eases off again.
• A gentle alarm. It wakes you at a moment you’re already stirring, through the pillow, so the person beside you sleeps through it.
• Partner Mode. Two Drowsies talk to each other, so you can see how your nights affect each other.
• Any app you like. Fall asleep to whatever you already use — autopilot takes the rest of the night.
